The time of siloed working is coming to an end. As CEOs and leaders across industries look around and realize that their companies would work better if all their employees could collaborate, share information, and solve problems together, a lot of us are being told to quit our siloed ways in favor of a Revenue Operations model with fewer departmental boundaries.
Here at Revenue.io, we think that’s great! But we also realize that it’s a big shift for many people who are used to working by themselves or with only one team, and who are afraid of being left behind as the work culture shifts under their feet.
So if you’re wondering how you’re supposed to work with your coworkers across the aisle (or even if you already are, but you just want to do better), then this list of cross-functional podcasts is for you. Whether you want to build your own RevOps function from scratch or just understand other people’s jobs and perspectives a bit better, these podcasts will give you a great place to start.
- The RevOps Podcast
Surprise! Revenue.io is launching a new podcast! Join Jordan Henderson (our Director of Revenue Operations), Jonathan Stevens (our Sr. Marketing & Automation Manager), Brandon Redlinger (our Sr. Director of Product Marketing) and some of the world’s leading revenue operations leaders on a journey as they tackle some of the biggest questions people have about RevOps. Questions like: What processes and tools do I need? How do I structure my team? How do I measure outcomes across sales, marketing and customer success? And what are some best practices I should know about? For the answers, check out the podcast! Listen on Apple, Spotify, or your favorite podcast platform.
- Revenue Engine
The Revenue Engine podcast is hosted by Rosalyn Santa Elena, Head of Revenue Operations at Clari. In the podcast, she speaks to CEOs and industry leaders about the strategies they implement to drive growth and the lessons they learn along the way. What makes it a great cross-functional podcast is that Rosalyn doesn’t just limit her guests to one department — they come from Sales, Marketing, and Operations to tell different sides of the story. And her guests are fantastic! From the CMO of Lessonly to the co-founder of SalesHood to the CEO of Sendoso, these are all conversations you won’t want to miss.
- Metrics That Measure Up
The Metrics That Measure Up podcast is hosted by Ray Rike, founder and CEO of RevOps Squared. For each 30-minute episode, he invites SaaS and Cloud leaders to discuss how they use data and KPIs to make metrics-driven decisions at every stage of a company’s lifecycle. One of our favorite episodes is when he interviewed our very own Director of Revenue Operations Jordan Henderson about how RevOps can be the “canary in the coal mine” for companies, spotting trends and potential issues with leading indicators. Basically, if you look at data from every department in the company, you can predict the future. Which is pretty cool!
- The Revenue Architect Podcast
The Revenue Architect podcast is hosted by Jeff Ignacio, head of Revenue and Growth Operations at UpKeep. Each episode dives deep into the story of a specific SaaS veteran or leader and looks at how they built up incredible businesses and go-to-market capabilities. One of the strengths of this podcast is the breadth of guests, from founders to executives to middle management and RevOps practitioners. If you think you’d like to found your own company one day and want to make sure you can work cross-functionally with everyone in the business, then this is the podcast for you. It’s also great if you’re trying to build up a RevOps function!
- RevOps and Hops
Can we just take a second to appreciate that title, please? This podcast was hosted by Patrick Campbell, CEO of ProfitWell, and Michael Klett, CTO of Chargify, and while they’re no longer producing episodes, it’s still definitely worth a listen. As it says on their podcast homepage: “Join them on the RevOps mission as they float down the San Antonio River consuming craft beers and conducting exclusive interviews to lay the foundation for RevOps success.” And they even talk to a former Disney product manager! Their podcast is both fun and educational, which is the best of both worlds.
- Wizards of Ops
Another podcast with a great name… that is also sadly defunct. Maybe after listening to enough episodes, we’ll learn the right wizard spell to summon them back for a new season. But in all seriousness, this podcast hosted by Sara McNamara — LeanData OpsStar of the Year, Marketo Fearless 50 Member, Drift Top Conversational Marketer, Salesforce Pardot Champion, and Senior Marketing Operations Manager at Cloudera — is a great place to learn about both Marketing and Sales operations.
- The Sales Enablement Podcast
We may be slightly biased (after all, we liked this podcast so much that we bought it), but we think that the Sales Enablement Podcast with Andy Paul is the best one out there. And we’re not alone — whether you’re “in sales or want to understand how to work with your sales team more effectively, this is a must listen,” according to Inc. magazine. Andy Paul is author of two award-winning sales books, and is ranked #8 on LinkedIn’s list of Top 50 Global Sales Experts, so you’re in good hands, whether you’re actually looking for Sales advice or just trying to figure out how to collaborate better with your co-workers on the Sales team.
- BONUS: OpsStar Podcast
This podcast from our friends at LeanData started after we published our initial list, but it’s too good not to include, so we had to add it. As with all of LeanData’s content, the OpsStars Podcast, hosted by Rachael McBrearty, Chief Customer Officer at LeanData, is packed with highly actionable and practical content. It’s a must-listen if you are a practitioner looking to learn from other practitioners in the trenches doing the hard work. Just 12 episodes in, and Rachel has already talked to some of the biggest names in the RevOps community. If you’re not already a subscriber to the OpsStars Podcast, you’re missing out!
